PhD Program

The research lab runs an active graduate training program under the Department of Neurology awarding PhD degrees to successful candidates. The entry into the program is based on the basis of matching vacancy program evaluated through Institute entrance exam conducted twice a year. The successful candidates are asked to submit the PhD synopsis plan in first three months which is evaluated by Dean’s Doctoral committee. The assessment of the PhD progress is monitored continuously by the Doctoral Committee throughout the duration of program which holds its meetings every six months.

Throughout the program the students are expected to complete the Research and Methodology exam administered by the Institute and participate in academic activities of the lab. These include journal clubs, seminar presentations and rotation in molecular diagnostics and animal facilities apart from other ongoing research projects.

The minimum period of submitting the PhD thesis is 3 years and the candidate is generally expected to write at least 2 manuscripts from his/her PhD thesis.
