NRL (Neuroscience Research Lab) at PGI, Chandigarh took up the 2nd October appeal of our honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, reinforced by Director, PGI. The last 230 weeks of continuous involvement in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan has been an enlightening experience for all the volunteers of the research group. Every Friday after the lab hours, the volunteers grab their brooms, shovels and gloves cleaning the PGI campus earlier littered with paper cups, plates, expired medicines, bidis, cigarettes, pan masala packets, plastic bags, leftover food, much to the surprise of both patient’s relatives and staff.
This activity has been ongoing for past 5 years and a complete comprehensive report is available on request. This has transformed the lives of its PI, students and staff winning awards by Quality Council of India, IISF (Ministry of Science and Technology), SKOCH, besides appreciation by Sh. Bindeshwar Pathak, the Sulabh Shauchalaya pioneer and the honorable PM.
